Emergency Datashare Victoria - How it works

How it works

Ongoing, routine data sharing replaces the uncertainty of ad hoc agreements

Each Emergency Services Agency currently sources utility data using a variety of ad hoc arrangements made directly with the utility custodians. This means GIS managers spend much time finding data and negotiating to share it.Slide1.jpg

With EDV, utilities sign just one agreement for all emergency services and provide a single copy of their data. Sensitive data is secure.  Key improvements

Slide3EDV builds on the existing framework of agreements and secure data delivery of the Victorian Spatial Council's Custodianship Program. This program improves access to location and geographic data by all levels of government and the private sector.
